The company is owned and operated by Randy and Kathy Riggs. We build new homes, commercial buildings and remodel both as well. We are licensed and insured in Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To accomplish quality construction we are well equipped with 10 full time employees, five fully stocked tool trucks, two dump trucks, two 873 Bobcats, a landscape rake/rock hound, three trailers and various other attachments for the equipment.
Each employee is experienced, conscientious and dependable. We take pride in our work. Our goal is to provide quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. We are proud that we retain the same employees; they have been with us for 10 to 31 years!
Randy Riggs, 1976 graduate of Fort Hill High School, graduated from Frostburg State with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and economics in May of 1980. Upon graduation he began R. Hillegas Construction with himself and one other employee. Randy began working in construction while in grade school in the evenings, on weekends and in the summers. In July 1990, the company became Hillegas Construction, Inc.
Randy has 42 years carpentry experience. He meets with customers, draws plans, estimates the jobs, bills the jobs and manages the employees. He meets with the employees everyday to go over the jobs. He is very conscientious and proud of the companies work. He has instilled these values in all of his employees.
Kathy (Nixon) Riggs, a certified public accountant, is a 1982 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School and a December 1984 graduate of Frostburg State with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration. After graduation she worked locally in public accounting for three years and then three years at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Inc. in the finance department. Kathy's responsibilities as business manager include accounting, payroll and customer relations.
Hillegas Construction uses the same sub-contractors that we have used for years. We have an excellent working relationship with them. However we are flexible and will use a sub that a customer may prefer.
